Re: Can't get enough of the Meindl's

My second pair of Meindl boots in as many months arrived yesterday. I love these boots even more than the first pair. I bought some Scotchguard waterproofing spray for suede and nubuck finished leather and it worked out great. The nap is still there and it only darkened them slightly. Hardly enough to even tell.

The most awesomest boots that have ever been on my feet.

Still nice and brown and Made in Germany. Hell, I might even order yet a third pair sometime down the road!

Called UPS to see how much (if any) brokerage fees cost. It was $24.92. Not bad to expedite through customs in an hour instead of almost two weeks. I would have gladly paid that the first time.

Delivery is scheduled for tomorrow by end of business.

In and out of Louisville from Cologne just like that. The system really works well when it works. Not so much when it doesn't.

They cleared customs earlier today in Köln. I'm hoping they are aboard a jet enroute to either Louisville or Newark.

They came in aboard UPS214 to Louisville last night.

Well, you could have worse addictions

Good looking boots this pair too, I like/prefer brown leather when available.

Can't get enough of the Meindl's

Well I had to wait two days after the dollar seemed to bottom out against the Euro to order another pair of Meindl boots.

They were $7 and change higher than I could have bought them for on Wednesday, but I'm not bitchin' much. They were still $33 dollars less than the first pair I bought roughly seven weeks ago.

These Island GTX Pro boots are so damn nice I bought another pair in brown for when I'm not working.

The anthracite colored boots ended up being almost black (unless you look really close in good light) after waterproofing them and it ruined the nap of the nubuck leather. They still look good, but now they are polishable since the nap of the leather is gone. They look good for work all polished up, and I can stand for up to 14 hours with nary a squeal out of my piggies.

This is the first pair of boots I've had in over four years that did not hurt the heel and arch of my right foot. They are so comfortable I wear them when I'm off or working.

However, I really wanted these boots in brown to begin with because I wasn't buying them for work. When I ordered the former pair I couldn't find them in brown from a company that would ship to the States.

This morning I ordered from Sport-Conrad in Bayern. They have four stores in Southern Germany, one even in Partenkirchen, which doesn't surprise me at all since they are a major sporting goods store for skiing equipment at the foot of the Alps.

These are coming UPS, so hopefully will clear customs in less than three weeks like the last pair took from Berzeit.

I really like them in brown:
