Comp 2, 3, 4....? So many different models I am lost. I'd like to get one, probably compromise with a 2moa dot size to allow a bit more precision past 100 yards. Prices go from expensive to REALLY expensive so I can't afford to make a mistake with this. Don't need it to be waterproof enough for diving, don't need night vision capability, just need reliability!

Re: Please explain the different Aimpoints..
I'm no xpert but I do surf alot, so the first questions are, what's your intended use (why do you feel you need a red dot and not say a low magnification scope) and platform (AR, AK, shotgun?). Small red dots like the Aimpoint T1 are perhaps better for mounting, say, on top of the fore grip of an AK, for example."Not all of them are terrorists"..."No, not all of them, but most of them are, and all it takes is most of them." -Eric Cartman

Re: Please explain the different Aimpoints..
Basically for when it hits the fan. Presently working on a 16" M-4, intend to get something else later on for my MAK-90. I figure my use would be 100-150 yards max, but want to keep the capability of up close speed that I can't get with even a low power scope. The AK, I'll most likely use an Ultimak forearm mount, the M-4 I'll go with a QLR on the upper receiver rail."some people never let their given word interfere if something they want comes along"
The real problem with the world are laws preventing culling.
