I stumbled across what I think may be the new replacement for the older CWU-45/P Nomex flight jacket.
The designation is CWU-106P/N. It has a few features of the older jacket, but has an elasticized waistband, Velco adjustable sleeve cuffs, and a more textile look to the material (like a lightweight canvas or linen) than the smooth Nomex synthetic look.
The older CWU-45P's are selling anywhere from $250-$400+, but this new jacket is tipping the scales at over $600 and in some cases from some retailers, almost $700.
Can anyone on active duty with the Air Force or Navy confirm this as the new issue Nomex flight jackets?
EDITED to add: This is the solicitation notice from the Feds for this new jacket and trousers. The dates are much older than I thought they would be, but I know how slow the wheels of .Gov turn...
