  • Hustler G6 144B Going up

Finally bought my outdoor 2-meter antenna. This is supposed to have a low take-off radiation angle to give me some distance to repeaters that are up to 60 miles away.

It will be up 30' off the ground and about 10 feet above the house. Antenna is nearly 10' tall. I hope to be making more contacts now.

And it's up. Way up. I'm talking to people I couldn't even hear on my scanner antenna before.

I rigged a piece of flexible electrical conduit and threaded 130 pound test nylon 32 strand line through the conduit. I threw it up over the gable and manuvered it around the chimney and started pulling. Up it went. The neighbor helped push the mast as I was pulling. Got it secured into the mounts and drilled a hole through the wall of the house.
