  • Passed the Technician Exam today.

Just returned home from the exam and passed the Technician exam with only missing three questions.

They talked me into taking the General Class exam and bombed that big time. I was not prepared for that and didn't know but a few of the answers. I guessed at nearly all of them. I only got 21/35 right on the General.

Congrats, keep studying you'll get it. Then go for Extra. I passed all three the same night, so I no it can be done.

If I'd know they were going to offer up the General exam back to back with the Tech I would have studied for it. Bummer..

I took practise exams for a week before taking the Tech and passed every time. I did the best on the real test though. I surprised myself.

Most of what I knew came from being a RadioShack store manager for six years and Air Force electronics training. I had to look over Part 97 for operating rules and I was good to go for the Tech.

Now you've done it. That's going to make a serious dent in your gun and ammo budget.
Study for the general and extra test. You can practice here. https://hamexam.org/
I've had my general since 2011. I think you will enjoy it. You have privileges on 10mts.
I'm in the process of moving. When I get an antenna back up, we should try it.

It's going to put a heck of a dent in my model railroad budget too.

I'm trying to swing the Kenwood TH-D74A. I hate to buy something less because I know I'll be regretting it if I settle for less.

Don't I have 10M privileges for CW and SSB between 28.3 and 28.5 Mhz?
