    Yah, the mod there sucks.

    </font>[/QUOTE]I've heard that about him.

I got lucky in my eBay purchases of my System Sabers...they both worked fine, though the battery was dead on one. Found a local (Phx) guy who sells chargers so got a gang charger from him and a speaker mike. the rads came with the Hirose (sp?) mic attachment, which was cool.

The problem with used Sabers is they are almost impossible to verify whether they are functional or not just by looking at a picture showing the display is on when power up. You can have every single module inside being junk and the radio will power up and display channels and dials just fine. And many people do just that in Ebay and sell them as "working" but "as is". I have bought over 20 of them from Ebay and almost 1/3 of them are junk like that.
The good news is you can frankenstein one from different parts relatively easy.

BG gives a great link. Read up on the crypto portion of it. Also, there's a forum there where folks can do some selling/trading. ALso, Lightfighter's forum has a good Comm forum (acc. to BG...heheheh).

They are nice radios. Don't hit anyone in the head with them...it'll hurt.

Thanks for the site link. Deal fell through though. Guy wanted me to send my end at the same time he sent unseen/untested electronics to me. Actually he was pretty adament about it. Seemed to pushy about getting my end, seemed fishy so I told him thanks, but no thanks.
I will keep my eyes out for some others at a good price.

They are readily crypto capable, very robust.......great radios.

Used batteries are usually worn out junk, not always though.

    What model Saber? Freq range?

They are programmed via computer using a Motorola RIB....radio inteface box and Motorola Software.

    Motorola Saber Radios???

Who's had experience with these radios? Are they any good? I have a trade pending for 2 Sabers, 6 Batteries & Charger(s). I feel I am getting them for peanuts. Any info besides the Motorola website(I am looking for personal use info/input).

    Thanks,
