    The BPL issue...your thoughts

    Greetings,

    I would like to know everyone's thoughts on the impending deployment of Broadband over powerline. (www.arrl.org has information for those not familiar with it.)

    My Local radio club thinks it is a big issue, though I haven't been a ham long enough to see its inpact.

      As I understand it, the signal they want to use to shove data back and forth onthe powerlines will radiate 'noise' across a good chunk of the ameteur spectrum, including some areas with world-wide reach. basically, we'll be polluting the world in this area of the spectrum.

        It sucks! The utility companies can't keep a handle on current issues of noise generated by their lines. It will get even worse with BPL.
