Got a problem.

I have gone to google///changed the HD..pulled the battery reset..

When the computer comes on Pre-OS
It takes far longer then it should to get off the preboot tech info pages.to starting the OS.

I cannot find any answer.

Any Ideas???

Check the boot order in the BIOS. It may be taking longer to boot if the machine is looking at the CD/DVD drive for a boot disc before looking at the hard drive.

You can change the boot order to the C:\ drive first.

If this isn't the trouble maybe Noland can help.

Sounds like it may be finding something it doesn't like during POST.

Does the screen give you any hint of what the hold up may be by spending a lot of time showing the same thing, such as "Memory Test:", or "Detecting Primary Master", "Detecting IDE Drive", or whatever?

Unplug any USB devices and anything else that isn't required to boot and see if that makes a difference.
