  • Would it be possible to scale back Flood Protection?

    Flood Protection annoys me.

    I type fast.

    Thank you.

Now I have to wait a minute to hit" add topic"

    I believe thats the minimum time setting. I think it's 1, 2, 5 and 10 mintues IIRC.

It is at 1 minute right now. Every once in awhile some a-hole would come on and at 0300 hours post a million posts / replies.

Without flood control it is possible to click the post or reply button just right and make 40-50 posts per minute. I did it one night to prove the point thats what was happening and it wasn't an actual hack-program doing the posting.

I think flood control is set perfectly, rarely do I find myself ahead of the 1 minute and if I do I know it's time to ease up

I dunno. On many websites flood control is set at 30 seconds or even 15 seconds. It may be that the software here does not allow that though. Either setting prevents "double taps."

I agree that posting 1500 posts would be a bad thing. Sometimes though I read a post and just want to give a /signed or word up type response.

Well there used to be 4 pro freedom sites I'd go to.

Then there were 3. Of the 2 that folded I liked ZionsCamp the best. Now there's here and just 1 more.

I don't always check the date of a post I'm answering to. That must have been the deal here.

When I first hit this thread I figured the subject at hand was about those that were required to carry flood insurance. I live in an area full of rich bottom land. Farming in crops seed flowers and tulips dairy is in abundance here. Now that I know what **flood protection** means in web lingo... In RL I live on high ground. It would take a catastrophic event to make my world upside down. Pockets of dry ground would exist.

Now if only I had the knowledge to put the big kibosh on some yahoo chinaman that flooded ZionsCamp with bogus BS concerning concrete working equipment I'd run a combine up his watoosie faster than one can say a dingo ate my baby. Lucky for that douche bag I'm not a gifted 19yr old MIT prodigy.

I have just the opposite problem. By the time I finish typing a thread, or even a reply to an existing thread, by the time I'm done and hit the "submit" button, the danged forum has logged me out!

I find it amusing that this thread has been going on for nearly 12 years.
