  • Berdan Large Pistol, .45 ACP

I've got 250 pieces of CBC, Brazilian, .45 ACP pulled/unfired berdan brass that looks better then some new boxer brass. Also have 50 pieces of unfired Argentine .45 ACP berdan brass in very good condition. Don't have any Berdan Large Pistol primers though. 8-/
Soo, my question is: Will Berdan Large Rifle Primers work? I've got a "few" of them.
    Thanks in advance...

    no
Rifle primers have a thicker cup and a hand gun doesn't have a powerful enough strike to make them reliably fire.

      Let me rephrase the question....
Will Berdan Large Rifle primers fit in place of Berdan Large Pistol primers?
I am aware that they are harder. I've done it before when I did not have access to boxer small/large pistol primers. Just gotta have an adequate hammer/firing pin spring.
It would be a shame to waste 300 pieces of very nice brass.
Aim high! It allows for bullet drop.

pull the anvil out of a boxer primer and you have a berdan primer. if it fits snuggly in the primer pocket you're good to go.
incoming rounds have the right of way.

I don't think so. I know Large rifle Boxer and Large Rifle Berdan are different diameters. :-/
