  • Loose primer pockets?

So going thru a bunch of surplus 7.62 brass getting it ready to reload. Got it deprimed, sized, tumbled and ready to install the primers. On brand of brass has primer pockets so loose that the primers literally fall out. Just turn the brass primer side down and the primer falls out. Anyone ever heard about this? The brass only has 7.62 and the date 82 to 88. Do not know what brand it is. I am using CCI #34 primers which are for the 7.62. Never had this happen before.

Ran into this with a bunch of Federal .223, using my Dillon 550 didn't notice any seating issues but when firing I popped primers left and right. Was once fired commercial brass. I'm leery reloading any military brass unless I know what it is, too much third world stuff out there that I consider myself lucky to fire it once and me and my guns survive.

I haven't had it happen on any 1x brass that I can remember (at least not other than self-inflicted by trying to remove military crimps in stupid ways before I had a Super Swage.)

Suppose that could be it. I am using my old pocket reamer that has always been okay. Just this one brand is loose. All the rest are good to go.
