.......Of Mama giving me grief about reloading in the house. I just got back from Lowe's where I ordered me a nice little shed kit. I plan on running electricity, heating and cooling to it. It is almost tall enough for two stories, so I am going to put in a low ceiling and use the leftover space for storage. One wall will be the bench. Trying to find a deal on a mini fridge so I can make it my own little reloading and man cave. Have to see if my laptop will connect to the house wireless, otherwise will have to run an ethernet cable out to it,too.

Don't put in too low a ceiling if you think you might ever want a progressive with a case collator. Some of those can get lofty.

I worked hard everyday of my life up until I retired. I have been married 41 years. I have met many men who over the years got divorced mainly because their wives would not let them be themselves. Having to take your hobby into a shed is sad as I assume you bring a good share of the family income in each month. Run electric out to the shed, put a chair in there and a TV then go back into the house and take your wife out there and show her your handy work and tell her if she has an issue with you reloading in Your house, she can spend her free time in the shed. Not trying to be a wise guy and no I don't put the toilet seat down as I feel I am being nice just picking it up in the first place. It is your life and you only live it once.

At least that is one area where I don't get much grief.

The wife can get somewhat Female (read that as "moderately psychotic" if you want to) about a lot of things, but she was raised right with respect to firearms and reloading and suchlike.

I can sit down at the dining room table and strip, clean, and reassemble a firearm, and she doesn't turn a hair. It's something that guys do, because that's how her old Daddy always did it, and it's perfectly OK.

Reloading is pretty much the same thing. It's something that is perfectly acceptable and not something that a woman should gripe about.



May Our Lord Bless and Keep my FIL. He taught her right, in a lot of ways. I still miss the old grouch, because he was a reasonably competent gunsmith, and I learned a lot from him. I just wish he'd have lasted a bit longer, so I could have learned more.

Edited to add that I've adopted a new philosophy regarding toilet seats. I'm expected to put the seat down, so I put the lid down too. Every time.

If I got to pick things up, everyone gets to pick things up. It's only fair, after all.

My wife is too accommodating sometimes. I make too much of a mess and feel bad about it.

Herr Walther, I love my dogs (had them longer than this wife). However my wife does things for me I won't do with a dog. I hope you don't either...

Don't matter, the laptop reached. Just put in a CD player and an MP3 player so I have the music covered. Put a wireless intercom in it and the kitchen so mama can call me when meals are ready.
