Re: What unusual/nonstandard calibers do you load?
We reload for a number of calibers... but probably the most unusual is for the .41 Swiss Vetterli.

Re: What unusual/nonstandard calibers do you load?
Lee, I can't begin to compete with that list, but I do have a couple:
.357 Maximum. I have an original Ruger SRM SA revolver for that caliber; when it began showing signs of flame cutting of the upper strap, I purchased a USA Seville--its strong stainless steel and slightly longer cylinder combined to reduce that problem. (Because I like muzzle flash, I special ordered my gun with a 6.5" barrel. It worked.)
.357/.45 GWM (Grizzly Win Mag). This is essentially a .45 Win Mag shell necked down to .357; however, to hold the bullet properly the case must be longer than the .45 Win Mag (so it isn't possible to make them from the parent case). I shoot them in a L.A.R. Grizzly pistol (the only gun available, I think).
.458 SOCOM. This is a cartridge designed by Tromix and is similar to an elongated .50AE case necked down to .458. It loads single-stack into a standard .223 magazine and I have an upper for an AR-15 lower for it. However, I ordered a 10.5" barrel, so I can only mount it on either my CAR-15 (papered) or RRA .223 pistol (short barrels normal).
.45-70. Although not an unusual cartridge, I shoot it from a Mag Research BFR revolver. I don't have a rifle for it.
.50 AE. Perhaps not a true oddity, but certainly not in the main stream, either. I have both a Desert Eagle and a L.A.R. Grizzly pistol in this caliber. My favorite is the Griz', which is just an oversized 1911.
.45 Win Mag. Another not-terribly-popular cartridge; I shoot them in either a L.A.R. Grizzly or a Wildey.
I am currently able to reload for all these calibers except the .45-70.

Re: What unusual/nonstandard calibers do you load?
here's the list: pistol calibers- .25ACP, .32ACP, .380ACP, .38S&W, .38spec, .357mag, 9mm, .40S&W, .44 spec, .44mag, .45ACP, .45LC, .454Casull, .460s&W. rifle- 5.7x28FN, .223Rem, .22-250, .243, .270, 6.5x55, 7mm Rem Mag, 7mm Weatherby mag, .300BLK, 7.62x39mm,.30-40 Krag, .308Win, .30-06, 7.7jap, .3.3 brit, .405 Winchester, .45-70. I think that's it. I'm getting older and may have forgot a couple. Non-standard calibers? They're all standard somewhere in the world at one time or another. But the Krag, 6.5x55 and 5.7 are the most non-standard I'm loading.

I don't consider them to be "Unusual or nonstandard", though. They are just calibers for people who have discerning or eclectic tastes. Those of us who shoot very much tend to get off into those areas.
And, as noted, I've got a mantra. If I shoot it, I can reload for it. If you can't, and it's not .22 LR, you may someday find yourself out of ammo. I'll last a bit longer, I suspect.

I am thinking of the non run of the mill surplus/well known/or everyday common cartridge.
IE: 30 Luger, 7.5 Swiss, 7.7 Jap, 20x138B Long Solothurn ect.
OR
calibers that China mart does not carry.

Re: What unusual/nonstandard calibers do you load?
Define "unusual/nonstandard, please.
I have the capability to reload for anything I shoot, with the exception of .22 LR. That would include an Arisaka, a Swedish Mauser, a Mannlicher-Carcano, 7.5 Swiss, 8mm Mauser, 7.62x39, 7.62x54R, .30 Nagant, 7.62x25, .400 CorBon, .357 Sig, and so on and so on.
If I shoot it, I can reload for it. With the exception of Rimfire, as noted. So if I have that caliber, it's just another brick in the wall.

540gr powder charge, that would give you about 12 per pound! (WC872)

John, I've culled all mine but one, the .45-70. Have a single shot New England I just love shooting even though my shoulder catches it. My normal loads are .308, 7mm R mag, 5.56, .45 auto, .357 mag, 44 mag, 9mm, .38 special and now and then for buddies- .40 S**T and Wesson. I'm not a fan of the .40 or lately of the company name it bears!

What unusual/nonstandard calibers do you load?
What unusual/nonstandard calibers do you load? And what do you shoot then in??
For me that would be:
30 Luger (1920's commerical*have a non matching 9mm upper also)
30 Mauser (for an old Broomhandle)
7.62x25 (HP's for a Nam capture TT33)
7.7 Jap (WW 2 Paratrooper 2 piece takedown rifle)
38 S&W (Old S&W Terrier (J-frame) (2 Isrelai surplus Enfield revolvers)
45 Auto Rim (Couple of old well worn S&W 1917's)
45 Win Mag (LAR Grizzley)
The Grizzley is the only caliber that I generally shoot a lot of.Tags: None
