If you are loading and shooting for diffrent 223's they are for 100% reliability. Using standard dies the case is sized to be just in spec, small base dies sixe the case down to the tighter end of factory specs.

Jf all you shoot is Ar's you may not have any problems, but (for example here) lets say you end up with some brass fired in a Mini 14 or a AK, they may not fit the chamber of your AR's or or just one AR if it has a tight chamber.

I have NO idea what my brass was ran thru. It is all once fired (From what ??) Federal commercial .223. Am planning on loading a bunch of soft points, reliability must be there. So I take it I need to find small base dies. Always something else to blow money on!

If you already have a set of dies, you can purchase just the small base sizer die.

Midway for one should have them.

This is one of the reasons my .223 is a Saiga AK type action. It will shoot ANYTHING!

To ensure your AR-15 cycles reloads, use a small base sizer die. Especially if you pick range brass up or purchase range brass from the military.
