I think I can quit buying CCI Stinger .22LR now.

I got dispatched to Wally World this afternoon. No complaints, 'cause I want to get fed tonight, but I did my usual thing about "If I'm in Wally World, I buy ammo."

They still had the CCI Stinger in stock and I hoovered up another four boxes. When I went to put it away, I got to wondering, and went to counting boxes. I've bought 38 boxes since it showed back up last year. That'd be 1900 rounds. I still have seven full boxes of 100 rounds from back before the ammo crisis hit.

So, I figured it up. When the crisis hit, back in 2008, I had 1800 rounds of it. I've still got 700, and at least three boxes of what I've gone through went to a good home with one or another of my friends and associates who needed some. Which means that I went through 850 rounds of it or so in the last 10 years. Having noted that, I think that 2600 rounds that I now have are probably plenty enough to last me for a good while, even if I start shooting more of it at the range.

Note for the record: That's not how much .22LR I have. That's how much of the top shelf brand I have. I'm still not above some .22 if it's reasonable, but I'm back to where I was before the Ammo Crisis on it, and I had a metric buttload back then.

There are calibers I need more of a lot worse, if I stop and think about it.

I used to always think that you couldn't, but now that I'm retirement age, I'm suspicious that it's going to take me a serious effort over about the first five years or so of my retirement to shoot half of it up. Not that I won't enjoy doing it, but adding to the stack at this point is beginning to seem somewhat like overkill.

I will never purchase ammo at Walmart again. They have become part of the gun owner problem. I understood when they decided to quit carrying AR's that is their decision, while I didn't agree, it is their right to carry brands or not. People will have the choice to get the firearm they want at another place.

When Walmart decided to arbitrarily raise the age limit to 21 and forced me a customer to prove that I was over 21 by scanning my license I QUIT PURCHASING ANYTHING FIREARMS RELATED FROM THEM.

One can never have enough .22 but I will shop elsewhere even if it costs more.
