  • Ammo is starting to come back.

I made a run through Walmart this morning, because the Grandsons are here, and I needed stuff for them.

They had a fair stock of TulaAmmo. I got some 7.62x39, just because I could, but they had 9mm and .45ACP available, too. And some Federal .40, and .357 Mag in WWB, and some .44Mag, too.

I've not seen any 7.62x39 since November or so, so I consider that a good sign. The market is going to correct itself, at a higher level of production.

Its popping up at most all the Wal Marts and alot of online vendors. However the big problem is that "flippers" are still trying to make a buck on this frenzy... Its slowing down though I think. I absolutely refuse to buy from any gougers.... I note them and move on. Cause when this is over I still won;t buy from them!

Our store here gets in ammo and its litterally bought out of a buggy! Never makes it to the shelf. With the exception of today. There were 4! Yes 4 boxes of Tula 223 in there...... gone before I walked away. They wipe 22 ammo out like it was the last drink of water ......

This is some insane stuff I am seeing this go around for sure.....

Glad to see you all are getting ammo in that gets stocked......

I buy ammo if it's available, but I've been buying ammo every time I can find some since about 2008. I'm still the same as I always was.

OTOH, I won't pay more than normal retail for it. The idiots who are buying it to resell are going to get a sad surprise one of these first days, because things are starting to improve.

Wally had a large quantity of 100 round plastic boxes of CCI .22 short this week, too. They'll have LR in hand again before long.

I seem to remember saying that things would start getting back to normal in "August or September" back in about February. I'm still holding to that.

Some of us will always buy some more, but most folks are going to give up when they have a few thousand round of .22 LR. Personally, I have as much of several real rifle calibers as they do of .22 LR, but that's me, and I'm an exception, rather than the rule.

I don't know much of anyone, other than the folks here, who don't think that 1000 rounds of most anything is a huge amount. I'm different that way.

As are a lot of us here, but we'll be back to normal before long.

Yeah at a higher price. Local Wally World had some 9mm fmj Federal Champion, about 16 bucks for 50 by the time sales tax is added. they also has some Rem. UMC 115 hollow points, 100 pack, about 40 bucks. I fear the days of inexpensive ammo has passed. Six bucks for a box of 9mm pre-Obuma is still fresh on my mind. Also people are still standing in line to get raped buying 22's. $55 for a 525 bulk pack of may pop Remingtons.

Well, I'm OK for now. Have about 1000 round of 30-06 in en-blocs, plus close to that in .223. The ,223 is about all I've been shooting, because I compete in NRA Highpower so I load my own. Have enough bullets and primers laid away to stand me through this season, but if it doesn't get better this winer I'm going to be toast for next season.

As far as pistol, I stopped shooting my "real" ones and bought an airsoft 1911 to practice with.

But I learned my lesson, and when the frenzy is over I'm going to institute frenzy-2 when I lay in my "doomsday" supply.

I was able to pick up some .40 and .380 at my local Wal-Mart. They still have a large quanity of .380, .38spc, and a couple others. They also have 4 AR's in the case for a couple of days 3 in 5.56 and one in 7.62!
