Interesting idea for practice rounds in a revolver. Has anyone tried this before?

It's all fun and eyes until someone looses a game!

I haven't heard of anyone trying that, but I don't see why it wouldn't work. You might have to clean much more often to clean the residue off the lands and grooves.

I've used parrafin on many occasions.

I'll bet that would hurt like crazy! But lethal?

          Re: Hot Glue Bullets?

Yes, depending on the location of the hit. When I was the training officer for the Tn State Department of Corrections I had to make them stop using wax bullets for training after an officer was killed in another state using straight wax bullets instead of the softer blend it was supposed to be.

I can say from personal experience they do HURT after being hit by one of the 'soft' ones in the throat during a room clearing exercise. I thought it was worth it seeing as I got 5 of them before I got hit ONE time by the three remaining room rushers.

I do not remember the ratio, but it is 'supposed' to be a mixture of wax and Vasilene to a soft consistancy. Even soft, they leave a BIG HICKEY!

Back 35 years ago or so, I had a buddy who used paraffin 'bullets' in his Black Powder gun as 'blanks'. The paraffin was not much more than a over-powder wad about a quarter-inch thick, not very ballistic. Just enough resistance to make sure the powder burned properly and make a nice booming sound! Great for New Years.

One would need to be careful when shooting such bullets. They are not "blanks" since a projectile is propelled from the muzzle, and it can be damaging or even deadly.

It sounds like a way to shoot in your house in winter.
