Best standard pressure JHP's for short barrel 9mm;s?

I think I'd rather avoid shooting Plus P in my Ruger LC-9, the pistol will do fine but my hand won't! Is there such thing as a standard pressure load that will open from a three inch barrel?

My standard answer to 99% CCW ammo questions is "Win Ranger SXT" & it fits in this case too. You probably need to try a few different ones to see though. Milk jugs with water maybe?

Interestingly we recently did a comparison for my kid's science fair on 9mm from different barrel lengths. Out of 10 shot groups the difference between barrel lengths didn't have all that much effect on velocity for 9mm. 3.25" was 1,090fps, 4.9" was 1,144fps, & 16.6" was 1,290. All different guns but the same ammo. Basically lost 55fps going from a large pistol to a small one. I doubt that 55 fps would be enough to keep anything from performing as it should. In fact the 2 fastest from the 3.25" were a little faster than the 2 slowest from the 4.9"

Musta been loaded with fast burning powder. Using either AA-7 or Power Pistol I can get about 1500 with a 124 from my CX Storm but gain nothing but a large muzzle flash from a pistol.

The load was fairly mild. 5.0gr W231, Win SPP, Speer brass, Hornady 115gr FMJ.

But I'd guess most commercial 9mm ammo has something similar in burn rate to W231/HP38

How about Remington 9mm HP? Not +P and I
would think it would be plenty effective for your
pistol.
