Anyone ever use this from a few years ago? I had a very favorable opinion of it, now find myself wondering why it seems to no longer available?

Re: IMI Samson ammunition
I had some of their 9mm Para, back in the day. And it was quite acceptable ammunition. I wouldn't be above getting more of it, if I could find it and it was competitively priced.
As you noted, it's been a while. (I'm estimating 12 years or so, but that's a number that I'm yanking out of one ear. It's been a fair time back.)
It seems as though, back then....Whenever "then" actually was, there was a whole lot of Izzy ammo around for a while. Then it went away.
Don't ask me why. I still wonder how much Russian ammo we could get, if Bill Clinton hadn't stomped on their surplus stuff. It might still be reasonably priced!

Re: IMI Samson ammunition
I bought 2 cases of their .50AE 300gr JSP ammo some years back and I love it--it flashes great and hits where it's pointed.

Re: IMI Samson ammunition
The 300gr JSP flashes more than the 300gr JHC, for some reason.

Re: IMI Samson ammunition
It was good ammo, roughly on par with Korean PMC, but they got government contracts during the Clinton years and went with that Janet Reno brokered deal of no longer selling it to the general public once their civilian import contracts expired. A few people played games to circumvent the "embargo" but the Israelis make more money selling that ammo around Europe and other parts of the world as premium ammunition these days, not to mention their own domestic use. My understanding is their production facility is not capable of really meeting the US civilian demand for volume orders at discount prices.Life, Liberty and the pursuit of those who threaten them.
