Could someone explain the differences between .30 Mauser, 7.63, 7.65, and 9mm ammo (I presume this is regular 9mm "luger/parabellum" ammo)? Thanks.

Re: Luger and Broomhandle ammo
First off, this is all coming straight off the top of my head, so confirm it elsewhere before you start loading magazines.
7.63 is .30 Mauser.
7.65 is .32
9mm is, as you surmised, 9mm Parabellum. (9x19, 9mm Luger, or whatever.)Alle Kunst ist umsunst Wenn ein Engel auf das Zundloch brunzet (All skill is in vain if an angel pisses down the touch-hole of your musket.) Old German Folk Wisdom.

Re: Luger and Broomhandle ammo
Bought some 7.62 x 25 ammo marked 63 on one side and 33 on the other , military issue. Is it safe to use in a Mauser Broomhandle ? Told it was not for for auto, which should have had black around the primers. Safe to use?

7.62x25 is for the Russian Tokarev pistol. It'd be major overpowered for the Mauser, even assuming that it would chamber in the first place. I'm thinking the cartridge would be too long for the magazine or chamber, but again, I'm working off the top of my head, and it's been a fair number of years since I've even seen any of the .30 Mauser ammo.Alle Kunst ist umsunst Wenn ein Engel auf das Zundloch brunzet (All skill is in vain if an angel pisses down the touch-hole of your musket.) Re: Luger and Broomhandle ammo
I saw somewhre (wish I remembered where) that the current 7.63 x 25 for the Tokarov was to hot to use but that the older military was OK. It does chamber with out difficulty. Maybe tie it to a tree and try? ;-)
