Shot some last week. After about 3 magazines (90 rds) my extractor broke - sheared off about 3/8" from the tip.

Prior to this, the rifle has seen about 2,000 rds of brass cased & 250 rds of Wolf steel cased.

I can't blame the ammo - might have just had a waek extractor to begin with, but we'll see what happens in the future with the replacement extractor. If it shears again, I can be fairly sure the ammo is to blame.

Otherwise, it shot fine. Accurate enough for plinking at cans & such.

I bought a case of this as well,even though I didn't really need it.
Hopefully I'll get to the range next week & post a range report.I don't care about it being dirty,I'll just spend a little extra time cleaning,no big deal.

Well, the domestic stuff was always quite a bit pricier than Wolf or Brown Bear or whatever other Russian ammo was out there.

Getting anything for around .20/rnd is pretty good right now if you ask me.

Not so sure about the coming down in price part. Some of the Russian is, but everything else - esp US manufacture - is still sky high for .223. But at least its becoming available. I've been seeing it on store shelves frequently. WWB is $8-$9 box/20 at Wally World & I just can't bring myself to pay 42¢ + per round of .223.

Seeing a lot of stuff online. Locally though it is scarce. there is no .380, 9mm, .45, or .357 on store shelves around me. Starting to see most of that available online though, so its just a matter of time until stores get a good supply. I have been seeing TONS of .40. At our closest Walmart that was the only pistol ammo they had, but they had a whole shelf full of it. Dick's looke dto be coverd up with .40 as well.

hope prices start to reset in the meantime. Hopefully the availabilty & low price of stuff like this Tula will drive down the prices of everything else too. I really prefer to shoot brass cased ammo, but I can't justify plinking with $400+ / case ammo.

Even @ 23¢ / rd I think this stuff is overpriced for what it is, but that is less than half of what XM193 is now.

I have a pretty healthy ammo stash right now, but at the same time am afraid to dip into it for plinking. I have a full case of 9mm that was about $4/box. So technically it doesn't cost me much to shoot that up, but then I'm looking at $13/bx to replace it. So I have to decide if what I have will last until price comes back down or else accept the fact that once its gone, I'll be paying $13/bx for 9mm.

Thaks to Mr Mitch's heads up on the price, I ordered a case. $230.42 delivered for 1,000 rds.

Haven't shot any yet so can't give a range report but I suspect it will perform - & be just as dirty - as Wolf.

It is sealed in 2 clear plastic bags just like Wolf. Each bag has 25ea 20 rd boxes. The ammo has the same greenish gray polymer coating as Wolf. It is packed inside the boxes on the same plastic holders as Wolf.

Other than the headstamp & the black & white box, it appears to be identical to Wolf. Of course that could be said about much US manufacture .223 as well, but the case coating & way it is boxed & packed makes me think it is the exact same ammo.

AIM surplus had great delivery. Ordered on 11/12 & it was at my doorstep 11/17. I got an order confirmation email immediately & a UPS tracking # email the next day.
