Re: Post your favorite ammo source........
Well since 22 dried up say about 3 years ago I haven't got any fave places to go. The one place I used to brag on here and elsewhere got shut down by ATF on October 1, 2013. That's when Kesselring Gun Shop had to surrender their FFL to sell guns.
They still sell ammo but where they use to have really good ammo prices (inexpensive) they went the route of most stores. The last ammo I got there was 22 and it was $12 per 100R. I WON'T pay that again.

Re: Post your favorite ammo source........
Paid cash from wholesalers at gun shows and haul it yourself in order to save on the shipping costs.
I was posting in 2001 that in the "future" the real shortages would be on ammo, not guns. Those $89 cases of AK ammo that you could buy for cash, even in California, would eventually be tradeable for an AK.
Now look around at what a case of South African battlepacks of their .308 will get you - Good chance it will score you one of the nicer FALs, minus imperial paperwork.
A case of 5.56 Green tip will cover the cost of a basic AR.
Only thing that is a complicating factor now is that the BATF is probably watching who buys ammo at the gun shows these days.

If they have what you want, and you have access to one locally, the Sports Academy has reasonable prices. Especially .22, and they seem to have a lot of that.

Bad when you can say "those were the days". Anybody know where some good .308 is; preferably reloadable surplus, Prvi would be nice. Looking for about a case.
It would also be cool if somebody knew where some steel cased .308 was.
