    Ruger 10/22 Takedown (Model 21133)

Any thoughts on this rifle? I'm looking for a good .22 rifle that be used in a bug out situation, stowed as part of a bug out bag/kit that is ready to grab and go. Something that can be accurate and the ammunition carried in large quantity. Scoped for accuracy (not sure which scope would be best suited for this).

A lot of money for a take down .22. I'm partial to the marlin 70pss. http://www.impactguns.com/marlin-pap...495077204.aspx

But how accurate is it in comparison?

The Marlin is a good gun, but the newer Rugers come threaded for a suppressor and I already have plenty of spare magazines.

Instead of a takedown model I went with a Butler creek folding stock. It's a little longer but can be fired with the stock folded.
          A 10/22 is never a bad choice.
Mine was made in the 70's and is still going strong after 10's of thousands of rounds.

I've only had my hands on one Ruger take down 22, was not favorably impressed. The amount of movement between the barrel and the receiver can't add up accuracy if trying to use a receiver mounted optic. Would probably be OK using the iron sights since they are sitting on the barrel.

As far as a scope I'd never go less than a 3x9x40 scope.
Red dots are fine but I like the extra 3x and up for finding that hiding squirrel.
