Re: Kingston rimfire Garand and M1A rifles
The MSRP will be around $700.[/img]
but, as we all have seen, after the newness and novelty wears off and distributors are up past their eye balls with warehouses full of these things that aren't moving, prices will drop and keep dropping.
remember those .22 STG44s? people were biting on the reins and paying 600+ bucks when they first hit the market. I just waited and when these things weren't moving, and prices dropped to a more sane price for a .22, I picked up NIB for 350 bucks then mailed in the ATI mail-in rebate and got 50 bucks back

I remember that POS GSG clone of an MP-5 being like crack over on arfcom. The prices went ballistic...until everyone figured out they were junk.
I refuse to be some unknown company's (or known, for that matter) Beta tester.
Still, $700 for a steel receiver 10/22 with a walnut stock isn't too nutzo...just a bit North of what they will probably settle at. Priced a bone stock Volquartsen lately or even a mid-range 10/22? A high number production run rifle like a CZ rimfire is what...maybe $400?
I'm with you though. $700 is for those with more money than me to spend on an unknown entity. A real Garand can be had for that kind of money.
I'm still watching Ghoulardi re-runs here in NE Ohio. I watched Ernie from his early days in Cleveland television. What a unique character he was. I have a neighbor from Parma. He bought the 25 acre place behind me just to have a place to shoot. Parma socks!!!

I hope they change their mind about adding weight, or offer a version without the extra heft.
I like the look of the Garand but if they make it weigh nine pounds I would lose almost all interest.

Re: Kingston rimfire Garand and M1A rifles
Not to be too much of a grouch about it all, but where is this trend going to end?
Is Barrett going to come out with a .22 LR adapter for their .50 rifles?
Is Garand. Is in 30-06 caliber. Recoil there is. If I want a .22 caliber rifle, I'll go with a Henry, or an AR, or some such. I'm pretty much the same way about the 1911 conversions to .22 cal.
I can see changing out calibers, but if you have to go to a .22 rimfire, you may have gone too far with the whole idea in some cases.

Re: Kingston rimfire Garand and M1A rifles
I like .22 caliber conversions and versions of full size guns.
There are a couple of pistol ranges I like to shoot at and they allow me to shoot long guns (which I prefer over handguns) at them.
I have .22lr versions/conversions of the following guns:
AR 15
AK47
M1 Carbine
I also have a .22 1911, and am trying to convert a spent LAW rocket into a single shot .22. I'm just tickled by the idea of extending the launcher at a range, looking over my shoulder, yelling "Black blast area clear", then firing a little .22lr round at the target.
