  • Most common thread pitch for 22 rimfire suppressor?

EWK makes a bushing with external threads for my 622 that I'm gonna get in preparation of getting a suppressor. Need to decide what thread size would be best to get.

1/2-28 is most common for .22

M8x.75 is probably next most common for things like a Walther P22 or 1911-22, but many people end up using thread adapters to take those to 1/2-28.

1/2-28 also allows you to direct thread to a AR-15 .22 (or direct thread to a 5.56 AR & blow it up).

After getting a .22 suppressor and using extensively on my P22 pistol I wanted to put on my AR15 with .22 conversion.
I searched the web for 2-3 days looking for an AR-to-22 adapter so I could thread my suppressor to it......
I gave up and decided to see what the difference was and grabbed the suppressor and placed it to the AR threads. And of course it immediately threaded on... I am glad I was alone when I made this discovery because I felt SO stupid. I was minuets away from posting this question on the forums.

What kind of .22 conversion do you have for your AR? Is it a bolt conversion?
If so you might get a baffle or end cap strike.

Mine runs fine with both my .223 & rimfire can with a conversion kit. 1:9 twist stabilizes .22LR well enough. Never tried it with a 1:7 though & could see the potential for misfortune with that combo.

I have an old Air Force bolt conversion that uses mag inserts.

I have fired hundreds of rds without a singe problem.
I think its a 1:9 barrel, and the barrel is only 7.5" long.
