Guest repliedTapco has some 30rd compostite mags on their front page. They were going for about $20 a piece, but don't know who makes them or how reliable they are. I got some really cheap metal ones. They work just fine, but those feed lips couldn't get any thinner. Maybe I'm used to the ak style.

Guest repliedNOPE!
They will work (if they work) in any mini. Ruger stopped making (non LEO) hi-cap mags long before the ban.

Nope - not seeing any reference to the change you're asking about.

KOTW - Uh, What? This is a valid Mini-14 topic.
(unless it was moved in from another forum?)
lg1 - I have not heard anything about Ruger "pulling a Colt" and modifying their products to be 'less evil'.
Let me look around a bit and see what I can find.
Regarding mags, Masen and Promag make decent 10 rounders. The Eagles would rank right up there, but I had to shave the sides of mine to fit into my magwell. Once I did that, they ran fine. (the preban eagles fit properly out of the bag)

Mini 14 question
Can you use hi-cap mini14 mags in the newer mini-14's? I heard ruger now made them so they won't accept the hi-caps mags.
Also, does ruger or anyone else make a good quality 10rd mag?Tags: None
