Anyone else get ripped off by EOTech rebate?

So far all I get when I call is "It should be another two weeks and it will go out"

Three times I've gotten that answer over the last six weeks. I sent the rebate in back in August. They confirmed they received it at the end of August and was supposed to take 8-12 weeks.

It's now heading for the middle of January with no rebate in sight.

Great product, but I will not be trusting their company for anything else.

I bought a computer many years ago......never did ever get the rebate.

I am of the sort, HEY!! You want to give me a deal?? Lets do it right at the point of sale!!!

I got an EO Tech used five years ago. Found out LATE that people already got their checks but I could submit mine in and wait. Well I did, I boxed my EO Tech up in a Priority mail box, and filled out the online form and got my check in six mos. later!

I consider all rebates a scam, the time, annoyance,etc, isn't worth shaving a few $$ off. Not in the long run, anyway

but...how many phone calls, how long have you been waiting...how much frustration in that timeline...

to each his own, but I pay no mind to the promise of a rebate

edit to add: If I truly want or need a product, I buy it.
I wouldn't turn away a rebate, but I wouldn't stress over it either.

As previously noted, I consider them scams. Your experience reinforces that notion.

I had about figured that Smith & Weasel was going to jerk me around on the rebate on the Shield.

I sent them the information they requested, and they got all wound up because the Sales Ticket I sent them didn't have the S/N of the firearm on it. So I got another one with it on there, and sent it to them. My FFL guy is good about that sort of thing.

Amazingly enough, about two and a half months later, they did send me a check. And it cleared.

Nope, I never liked the eotech. That's why I bought ACOGs for my MBRs.

I was putting shots in the ten ring (and 9 and 8) at 200 yards with a G3 copy. They do just fine.
