Man that's a flash from the past! I think I glimpsed your gun in Atlanta about 23 years ago. Lefty 308 from him. Green..... They were interesting for sure but sort of reminded me of the ole Armalite AR-18. But tighter...... He never could get things together to make them happen big time. Given more time they would have grown and refined themselves.
I have an Old Assaultweapons mag with an article on his guns in it! Now that is old! LOL!
What killed big time production was they were involved in the CONTRA fiasco.
If it was OD and left handed, you DID see the gun I was supposed to have gotten!
Adjustable gas system and ease of cleaning like a FAL with the accuracy of a M-1A Match grade with the sights equaling the M-1A. Used the super cheap at the time AR-10 mags.
When Holloway folded Reed Knight bought them all for less than $.25 cents each and then turned around and said they were proprietary mags for his AR-10 and charged $100.00+ each for them. I called him on it when he showed his AR-10 at the NRA show in Nashville 20 odd years ago and it pissed him off. Eugene Stoner was sitting right there when I correctly identified the mags. All Gene could do was just smile at me and nodded yes. That set Reed Knight off all over again.
As I was working for H&K at the time I was not real popular with Reed anyway. LOL
The HAC-7 could have been the AR-10 they are FINALLY building today over 20 years ago. I wonder who wound up with the tooling? It was tied up in Holloway's estate.
I remember it very well. I knew his guns were rare ones. The shop it was in was in East Atlanta somewhere. A little oriental guy (who used to do a lot of the Atlanta shows) was the owner. Had two real pretty daughters helping him too........! Back then that gun was well north of $1200.00 I do remember that. I was looking for a SSR-99 milled AK. ( remember those?) He did not have that one but did have the polish version of it. Passed on it. That's when then HAC caught my eyes. It stands out cause it was a Green gun and left handed at that. That guy had so many bars on his doors and you had to be buzzed in! The old days huh? What a pile of black guns he had there!
