    Re: NEW! PTR91 finally

Will the PTR series accept HK or CETME parts? Rollers, springs, trigger packs and the like? I have not come across specifics indicating the parts interchange.

I believe the idea of a battle rifle is to have an easily serviced weapon, robust and modular in design.

PTR's from what I read are all made in the USA not from parts kits. Century designed clones do interchange with many makes and models.

I do like how you can interchange stocks.

Was the build quality what you expected?

All parts from HK interchange with this rifle. There are HK parts on it right now.

The build quality is as good as or better than HK. Welds are smooth and nicely done. You won't find a finer, more reliable clone anywhere.

I have examined and fired a lot of HK rifles in the past. HK has nothing on PTR except the name on the mag well at three times the cost.

These are not like Taurus clones of the Beretta with questionable steel and parts, and a lack of QA. PTR rifles are good enough to be licensed copies.

Herr Walther, shoot and enjoy your rifle as they are VERY good. Just not for me. BTW you may want to add an ejection port buffer to protect your electronic sight. They tried to throw brass into my scopes occasionally until I added them to both my 91, MSG90, and it came with my PSG1.

In fact, the bolt gap is set up so well on this rifle that the unlock is so smooth and the recoil so well managed it feels even better than my StG.58. You can shoot this rifle all afternoon with nary a mark or bruise or soreness. It's a very smooth action and I've never had a malfunction to date.

It's 1.5-1.75 MOA. I'm certain a Williams trigger could improve that. I think that it's still very acceptable for a semi-auto battle rifle.

I don't believe the port buffer will mount on the models with the welded rail.

I bet about a minute with a dremel tool will fix that. LOL
