Got this thing used and since the first round I got hard bolt lift. Blamed the load at first, but have since figured out it has a rough edge in the chamber or throat. Not bad, just an irritant. What I wanted from you guys are some helpful hints how to smooth it up a bit without causing more damage. Any ideas?

Find a 'smith with a chamber reamer, about a 10 minute job cleaning it up. I like the 30-378, a really flat shooter with killing power up the ying yang. I always ran 180's in a bonded core, cup and core bullets ain't got a chance at the speed generated.

Thanks, I will try that if I can find a decent smith in my area. They seem to be real scarce around here . That wouldn't enlarge the chamber too much would it? This is our second one of these. I really like em.

Shouldn't harm anything, should just remove any rough spots caused by the original reamer being dull of chipped. I did a search, there's some places you can rent a reamer, do it yourself. Cleaning your chamber won't be too difficult, might cost less to rent than to take to a gunsmith. I know what you mean about a shortage of real gunsmiths, about all we have here are perts changer that might happen to have bluing tanks, most have no formal training, "I call myself one so I must be one" types.
