    I'm not too crazy about those black plastic Ramline stocks.

    Anyhow, why can't he shoot it stock? I shoot mine stock.

    Well, it mostly depends on what kind of sporterizing or moreso the end result of what your friend is looking to achieve,(what type of hunting is intended). This may change the desired weight, shape, and features of the stock.

    Still, have a look at Ramline, they're not too bad for a basic stock shape replacement, they hold value, and are fairly strong...

    One of my friends was given a swede M96(?) and he wants to turn it into a sportized hunting rifle. He's looking for a synthetic stock. Does anyone make a stock for small ring mausers that won't break his checkbook? TIA Lee
