  • Making laminated stock sets

    Hello,

I dont know why but I got the big idea that I would try to make a laminated stock set for my SAR3. I glued several pices of half inch plywood for my experiment. Has anyone done this and what tools did you use besides hand tools? Like I said, it's just an experiment at this stage but im game.

    TIA

I've heard of people doing it, the secret is supposed to be to use marine plywood, and some strong clamps or a vise. I can't remember which kind of adhesive the guy said he used.

      ISC,

I used finish grade 1/2" pine and glued those all together with epoxy. I started on the foregrip today but man this is going to be tough. Patience is a virtue that I dont have! How much is a laminated foregrip from Global????.......LOL.

the guy said to use marine plywood because it won't delaminate or become waterlogged if the finish gets scrached, and has fewer voids.
