Shotgun bowling!

Are there any real rules to this?

Ive heard 50yds and scored just the same as regular bowling. So is it just slugs or can you use buckshot?

Just a word of caution on shooting bowling pins. When using shotguns it's very easy for the shot to come back at you when it hits the hard coated surface of the pins.

Bowling pins are great targets, but be sure and use shooting glasses with shotguns and them.

I've had .45 slugs bounce off and they hurt! The worst I remember was being zero'd in the sternum from seven yards. Left a bruise and knocked the breath out of me. A bowling pin is one tough target!

Im really wondering the load, slugs would be harder. I guess it doesnt matter if everyone is using the same thing.

On the plus side they last for many, many rounds of handgun fire.

Rifles will eat them up in no time though.

I have been wondering about this myself. I first heard about this on Real TV. Looked as if it might be a lot of fun. I would think you would use slugs but after seeing the bowling pins that had been shot it looked like they had been hit with buckshot.?.?

Bowling pins can take some serious abuse! Someone left one at the local conservation club and I emptied 500 rds of 7.62x39 into it with minimal damage!

Chaser did you mean 5 rounds.....I can cut a tree down with 500 rounds.

No that was no misprint they went strait through and the pin held its shape unbelievably well (I still knew what it was)

I saw it on Real TV as well.

Made me proud to be a former Cheesehead as this is where the piece was filmed. (Milwaukee metro somewhere).

funny I did this damage with 40 rounds of wolf 7.62x39. 122gr hollow point at about 50 yards.
too bad I forgot to take pics of the 4 pumpkins we exploded!! that was cool watching them blow up on impact.
