ETS MP5 Mags

With PTR and maybe PSA making an MP5, it's only natural that we should stop and think about mags.

I don't know if it's a new product, but ETS is now making MP5 mags. I just saw them on the site, so they are new to me. This seems like a great way to buy mags for the gun. Mags come in 40 round, 30 round, 20 round and 10 round sizes. I couldn't give two humps for 10 or 20 round mags, but the 40s seem interesting.

It makes me a lot more interested in an MP5 clone, especially if PSA can bring the cost down. The word on the street is that PSA is going to do it as soon as Magpul gets the furniture shipping. Magpul will be making the MP5 handguard and stock from what I gather. Which isn't a bad thing, if you don't care about that 70s look.

Seems like a lot of US companies are jumping on MP-5 parts and accessories all the sudden....

Once I saw what their final product is going to look like I am no longer interested and wish I had not waited and bough another brand earlier last year.

Immediately I would have to replace that inferior plastic just to make it into what its supposed to look like... So add about $150 to their low price,
They are not offering a swing down lower like some are offering (that is what I'm looking for)...

I do want to know if they are going to sell that arm brace hook for HK type guns.

What is it about the plastic you don't like? The MP-5 Navy uses the plastic lower. Is there something about Magpul Plastic?

And what are swing down lowers? That's not the metal lower is it? I'd never buy one of those. I'd at least want an "80s" version of the MP-5.

I want the whole 80's look.
The magpul looks new and isn't "real" enough looking. More toy like.

A swing down lower (trigger pack) is like the real machine gun. The trigger pack has 2 pins that hold it in place.



MOST semi autos have only one pin (the rear) and then the front is chopped off and a steel shelf keeps the trigger pack in place.




It's called a swing down lower because when you remove the rear pin the trigger pack will swing down.



Today you can have the look of 2 pins with a trigger housing that has been "clipped-and-pinned".. It looks good, I have this on my C-93.


What they do is keep the front pin tabs but hog it out so that it will fit around the shelf, then cut pin ends are epoxied in place so it looks like it pinned like the original machine gun lowers.



There are 2 companies that I know of that use both pins just like the machine guns. POF, since its an Arms company in Pakistan they are basically making a machine gun but place blockers in the receiver so full auto bolts can't be put in, only semi.

I think the other company is MKE ZENITH Firearms that has the 2 pin trigger pack, but they won't make a reverse stretch... Bastards!

Thanks for clarifying that. I do see what you are saying. The Magpul looks the least desirable. I see the POF guns for sale already. They look pretty good. I think the PTR look the best, but have no idea what kind of lower they use. My PTR G-3 is not swing down. I'm not sure I'd want a gun made in Pakistan, but it might be alright. I used to work with a dude from Pakistan who was always talking about his 5 wives, so for me it's a pass, but whateva.

Almost ALL HK and HK type rifles will not have the 2 pin lower because that was part of the ATF approval process.

The POF guns are made under license from HK on HK tooling. They are made in a complete ordnance factory. People have been buying these for a few years and say that todays fit and finish and welds are really good now.
MKE Zenith firearms are made in Turkey. There are other makers in the US but that is when you go from $1400 to $3500 in cost.

Where are you seeing POF HK clones for sale? Kelly Enterprises has them on their web page but expect a December arrival time. I emailed them..

The POF I buy won't be wearing out since I won't be shooting thousands of rounds through it. Its my Bucket List/Childhood dream gun thing.
Buy it, shoot it, play with it, display it... Pretend I'm on Miami Vice.

My apologies, I meant that I had seen them for sale, not that there is current inventory available. Still I can't comprehend buying a subpar gun in exchange for cosmetic looks. Guns are for the grankids, and Pakistani guns are questionable. I'd go with the PTR.
