Re: I've never seen this shot size before.
I remember ACTIV all plastic shotshells had some 2-3/4" magnum copper plated lead BB size shells. I fervently wish I'd have bought a case way back then, some of the handiest shells ever. Small enough to still make a pretty good swarm for smaller critters-I/E snakes, skunks, feral cats, etc. but still large enough to put a serious hurt on two legged critters. Downside was they were almost equal to slugs in the recoil department!

I've never seen this shot size before.
My local Co-Op. I went rooting there for some Fly Traps when Wally World was out of them, and found some. I also found bulk doggie biscuits at about half what I was paying at Wally for them.
Whatever. That was good enough. But they also have two shelves full of Finnochi ammo, including some stuff I've never seen before in shotgun loadings. Like BBB shot in a 3" shell.
Triple B is bigger than BB, by .010". It's .190" nominal instead of .180" for BB shot. And they are selling boxes of 25 rounds of it for $11.05 per.
I think I need a dozen boxes at least.
Go ahead and pop someone with your shotgun in your house. And let the prosecutor claim you were doing "overkill". "Hey....I was not shooting slugs, or even buckshot. I just used a shotshell."
Yeah, it's not 00 buck, or even #4 buck, but at ten yards, it's going to put a fair hurt on anything or anyone in it's path, I suspect. Were I shooting a sawed off shotgun, (18.1" barrel length minimum, I promise!) that would be the kind of load I'd be using in it.
At 25 yards, out of a short barrel? It might not be too damaging. But at 25 feet, out of my Turkey gun?
If anyone I should happen to shoot with it at that range should stand up and need another one, I'm dumping the tube at him and then going for a .30 rifle with AP ammo in it.
'Nough said.
I didn't even know they made that stuff until I got curious over looking at it a couple of weeks ago, and wondered if BBB was larger or smaller than BB.
Now I know, and I need about 250 rounds of it.
