Re: Mossberg Maverick
How about parts interchange? I have a friend that just wants one for a house gun, he likes my 590 but would like to go a little cheaper. He wants the extended tube, some decent sights and maybe a folding stock. It might get fired 10-20 rounds a year.

Re: Mossberg Maverick
Some parts will interchange, Barrels (watch where they seat with the tube), stocks and tubes will but not the trigger group and bolt. (I had a 410 Maverick its parts are made south of the border and were not heat treated properly, the receiver began to bulge where the shell ejector encountered the round) I wouldn't waste my money on a substandard gun at any cost when you can get a 500 made in the USA with American parts that are designed to stand up well. (Don't get me wrong any gun can break even my 590 fell to crap when racking the first round) This was my fault because I had not inspected the weapon before taking it to shoot. It was the "Heat Shield" (NOT FUNCTIONAL) which had not been seated properly and the barrel was one twist of the nut away from being secured all the way within the receiver. They fixed the problem since the heat shield was factory mouted and not tightned properly = one more thing to fail.
Any accessory for the shotguns will interchange so the folding stock or front grips and sights shouldn't be a problem, but your results may vary. I would just up the extra $40 to get a 500.Last edited by Duncan M; May 3, 2009, 08:25.
