  • Another score at Bring Cash Alley

Ruger AR556. Purchased new six months ago. Less than 500 rounds fired by the original owner. There PMags, manual, hard case.
Original owner was asking$500 on Armslist. Then he dropped it to $450. Which I offered to meet with him in between my city (Nashua)and his part of NH(a 35 minute drive).
Then Thursday he dropped it to$400 because he didn't want to drive in a snowstorm.
So now I am in possession of my first AR platform since I was carrying an M16A1 &M16A2.
Despite the factory trigger (which is not worse than "OK") I rather like it.
Carbine length gas system. Folding rear sight. 1-8 16 inch barrel..
He threw in 250 rounds of 62 grain Winchester 5.56.
All in all I regard it as a good score.
Have another case lot of brass cased 5.56 and another six pack of PMags en route.

I may do that. Going to wring out the iron sights at first opportunity though.
Amazing how the muscle memory of mostly working Eastern Bloc and milsurp rifles has me thinking" this is light!"while others who are used to short/light carbines are all " wow, that barrel makes this HEAVY"... Go figure.

$400 AR is a good deal. Snow is good!

You can buy a nice two stage trigger from CDNN for $50. It is labeled Bushmaster but it is the old Eagle Arms two stage version that is much like a Garand trigger. Use your existing springs. Slaps in there in about 17 seconds.

I got the trigger assembly you mentioned. And,as an added impulse buy;two more AK magazines. Thought I would try the new production Bulgarian mags and see if they're up to snuff

Good stuff on the trigger. I have an original Eagle around some place. I think Rock River copied, I know CMMG did as they were blowing them out cheap in their retail store back home and that BM on CDNN. Smoking deal for the money. Simple, crisp trigger. I think it breaks about 4# as I recall. It is not a $200 trigger but for $50, it is Garand and M14 level.
