Return of the AR-180

Everything old is new again. Brownells is making an AR-180 upper for the AR. Like the original you can get a folding stock fotr it and toss the tube in the trssy.

It is a bit disappointing that you have to use an AR lower, but from a cost perspective it makes a lot of sense.

Yeah, but it makes a lot of sense. I don't know someone hasn't already done it. This is what Armalite should have done when it made the AR-180b instead of that goofy plastic receiver. To be honest, from a practical standpoint I prefer this setup with the AR lower rather than a complete AR-180. It just makes things easier.

Neat but they are sure proud of them. I like the Wolf upper. I think it is the Chinese version of the AR, piston drive. Has a AR-18ish hand guard.

My concern with stuff like this is how long will parts be available and who will have them. Like a darned small block Chevy. I hate them but they are cheap and they work. Everyone has a couple in the back yard for parts.
