CZ imported a fair number of the newer version of its "Bren" gun (not to be confused by the British gun, although the British model was actually a license of a CZ design). The Bren 2.0 is what it is called. Unfortunately only a small number were imported and those were sold without notice. The reason being they had a few features that were supposed to be only military only guns, which of course drove the price through the roof once people found out. But anyway, more Bren 2.0s are on the way (albeit without the Czech Army flash hider), and these look pretty damn good. It seems like they fixed every thing crappy on the FN SCAR (which this gun copies) and have made a really solid gun. The charging handle is non-reciprocating. The gun comes with a sleeve in the magwell allowing it use 5.56mm mags. If you pop the sleeve out, the magwell accepts "standard" CZ mags which are in 7.62x39mm. The mags are unfortunately not AK mags, but are available from CZ-USA. The barrel is quick change. You can change calibers in 5 minutes (just pop out the sleeve, change the barrel and change the bolt/carrier and the gun changes from 5.56mm to 7.62x39mm). Apparently, the Czechs still have a lot of 7.62x39mm and the people that they sell guns to, like Pakistan, also have a lot of it, so having the gun be dual caliber was a big deal (pretty cool for us too). The weight is lighter than the old CZ Bren, it has replaced the rails with M-Lock inserts, have made the charging handle non-reciprocating, and of course it can quickly change calibers from 5.56mm to 7.62x39mm.

Here is also a story about the French GIGN adopting it in 7.62x39mm (surprisingly).

Here is the gun on Budsgunshop: Price started at around $1500, quickly rose to over $1800, then went out of stock. Buds probably wishes they had raised the price to 2k.

It's an expensive gun, but I'd rather have it than any of the other $1500 dollar guns. Seems really solid and well built with a lot of awesome features. It will be available in pistol and rifle versions, with the pistol probably being the preferred version (14" pistol or 8.5" pistol).
