  • Have you checked PSA lately????

Wow....I don’t check their site more than probably once a month....whenever I think about and am killing time at the computer. I don’t get their emails. Anyway, checked today since I need to build an AR for my uncle. Stripped lowers are $40 and free shipping. Several different ones, but the no logo ones are in that deal too! So great lower and no crossed cannon logo if that bugs you (like the Anderson horse head bothers me). They also have a LOT of complete rifle kits for $299, and many more under $400 - and free shipping! So realistic to build a complete rifle for $340 + ffl xfer fee + rear sight + magazine....so under $400 for a decent, functional AR total cost. Consider the absolute most craptastic ATI Omni Hybrid is about $380 + tax or xfer and that is exceptional. So just passing along....just placed order.... may as well fill safe with some decent budget ARs now......2020 election cycle not THAT far off so of course these $400 rifles will easily fetch a grand just like 2008 and 2016

Yes no nobody has a excuse not to have one.{Unless you hate the rifle}I figure between 2008 and 2018 they have probably sold another ten million AR's in all configurations in the u.s.a. alone. which makes it Ubiquitous now.
I have moved on to something even more compact. something i had decades ago. but went back. Krink IMG_5004.jpg

Wow. Everything arrived today. Lowers to my ffl, remainder to my house. PSA has never shipped me anything that fast....I’m used to waiting a couple weeks just for the order to start get going. That used to be my only gripe about them....good stuff, good prices, but real slow to ship. Guess they fixed that. Order Tues, ship weds, arrive thurs....and free shipping. Maybe I signed up for PSA Prime

Since I was at the gun store anyway to get the lowers, picked up a CZ P10C. So he waived the xfer on the lowers and still cut me a good price break on the CZ. So for a couple of these will have exactly $339 + cost of a magazine and rear sight. The other two with slightly better kits but included sights will still be under $400 total. Just really stoked....sure they’re not noveske, but perfectly fine basic ar for under $400....can’t complain about that.

Bought a .224 Valkyrie Upper to try out. For the money it was worth it. I have had their 6.5 Grendel for a while and its great shooter. Their QC has gotten a lot better in recent years. I'm also a fan of the Ergo F93 Pro buttstock and PSA has eh bet price anywhere and not having to worry if it is a Airsoft forgery.

Alas, I can but wish the funds were available at this time. Maybe when Santa fills my stocking at Christmas with bundles of cash. I've been watching their ads when folks post them hither and yon and can say without embarrassment that I do tend to salivate a wee.

Those 5.7. rounds do the damage, We tested and shot through some vest. i think the antifa guys are wearing now. They will find out i don't use rubber bullets. at 2500 f.p.s. it zips pretty quick. And they look at say something hurts down there. The P90 shoots so fast you have no time to duck the little bees stingers coming at you.I now pack the five seven with a mag of 20 and a thirty mag in the pocket..crowd control. And after the first few fall. the rest will scatter ricki tic.Krink 400d0252e60cac40e9e6b901b767e74c1ddac3a2_hq.gif

I like PSA stuff. I especially like the 9mm's. I bought a complete pistol. I walso watch out for the blem stuff. They blew out 18" .308 top ends with the LPK and stock for $299. Bought one and sat on it for a while until I bought a lower to slap it on. They had a blem sale on their blem .308 lowers so I bought one of them too and bam, AR-10 thing under $400. About a week after I bought the upper, they bumped the prices up $100. She runs good and is accurate.

Keep in mind that you are not getting chrome lining for their cheap prices but they are well made, accurate and reliable for the money. You just need to maintain them. If you are lazy like me, get the stainless, slap on a piston kit.

Yeah.....still like their stuff. I have a Lantac Raven, Geissele Super Duty, & a Radian Model 1.....I understand the differences between a gucci and a PSA. Still, real hard to beat PSA for bang for the buck. Is everything overgassed? Heck yeah. Will you find strange assembly procedures like gobs of 30weight oil on the receiver extension. Damn right. Will you occasionally eyeball that your lugs look a little clocked? 1 out of 100 sure, but still locks up. Will you wonder why your springs are an oddball material resembling piano wire? you betcha. But ultimately, you get a decent functional rifle on the cheap. And occasionally, you get a friggin superstar! I have 2 of of the cold hammer forged FN barrels from PSA and they are outstanding. I wish they still sold those barrels- I think those were the best hidden gem in all the AR world! I have DD, Noveske, Criteron, etc barrels....the one I cut for my SBR was a PSA CHF CL Fn barrel....not because I'm I'm cheap, but because it was that good!

So yeah, there's a HUGE difference running a properly gassed rifle. Throw in a VLTOR, H2, ATC trigger, near rifle-length gas, etc, etc, and difference is night & day for soft shooting, rapid transitions, and just the overall feel. But that doesn't take anything away from the fact that you can have a perfectly serviceable, reliable PSA that's going to go bang when you need it to.

I will note that I have Cerakote'd everything I bought assembled form PSA so that means a detail strip. Barrel nut torque is all over the place. I would NOT buy an asembled PSA upper and not detail strip & reassemble. I have found many issues beyond just the liberal dose of 30W oil on receiver extension. Hand tight to literally broke prongs off an armorer's wrench for barrel nut torque. NEVER saw a shim - it's either no torque or ape torque to get barrel nut lined up - never take time to shim and torque to spec or just swap & try a different nut - whatever the monkey grabs, the monkey installs. Have also found partial roll pins under the gas block holding the gas tube. Like it was broke in half or something. So anyone saying PSA is "good as Colt" is an idiot. Have also had trigger springs from their LPK that were so weak the trigger wouldn't reset properly & you'd have to push the trigger shoe forward after firing sometimes. BUT, in general and considering you're paying 2/3 of what a barely mid-tier AR would cost, real hard to argue against PSA as long as your expectations are right going in.
