  • New Acquisition:WASR 10/63

FTF sale, via Armslist aka Bring Cash Alley. Guy moving back to Texas.
WASR 10/63,3Romanian steel 30 rounders,1 RPK 40 rounder. Bayonet, tool kit, manual, two spare muzzle devices besides the slant brake(bird cage and AK74 type brake) Of all things,an RPD(I believe) bipod that I may let go to an interested part.
Sights are straight with no tower or gas block cant. Rails are good, trigger is nice. Magazines snap in and lock up positively with no excessive play or wobble. Including my own stash of Serb,Bosnian,Romanian,Polish and Tapco stuff.
I think it's going to keep my Zastava M92 and AMD63 Frankenrifle good company as I scan the horizon for a Standard Romanian Draco,an SAR1 or an M70AB2. Or an Arsenal milled receiver SAM7.
$475.00...of yeah he included,of all things;a Romanian leather magazine pouch. I've only seen or encountered the canvas variety,so THAT was new to me.

Always a good day when you pick up a new friend. I'm picking up my new 4006 in an hour or so.

I was pleasantly surprised at both the magazine well AND the trigger,in addition to the overall condition. I think this one might have gotten in to the Century monkeys from Cugir between 2013&2014... Earlier examples I ran across were all over the map in QC/QA,ranging from " serviceable to surprisingly good" down to " oh my bleeping bleep...how the actual bleep is this bleep even bleeping possible?".

It's good that New Hampshire is still relatively gun friendly, considering all the Massholes that have been infesting the state in past couple decades. I sold both my Arsenal and the later purchased WASR. Never fired the WASR, but the Arsenal was sweet.

Could you have grandfathered that SAM7 SF? Or was this another of Maura Healy's actions where she Went Full Potato?

I like the Romanians I have, SAR1, SAR2 and Romak 2. The Romak has the best trigger. The others I had to take the trigger slap out of. I do have a Mak 91 milled receiver 'National Match' It has the smoothest trigger...

Chinese AK's are great. Both the milled Legends and the stamped rifles. A Polytech or a Norinco are always going to be up there in my estimate. I miss mine. These days unless you can score a milled Arsenal SAM 7,the WASR 10,the Draco and the O-PAP/N-PAP(with preference to the O-PAP)are the best of the current imports for the money. Anything"100℅ Made In America By Century/IO" should be avoided....well,definitely avoid the IO-they exist to make Century shine by comparison.
With regards to AKs,imports are generally more desirable. Which is why I get agita regarding Century and their " exclusive importer agreement" that seems to result in fewer current WASRs,Dracos and AES-10b RPK's getting in than under the prior administration.

I have a WASR 10 I picked up in the summer of 2008, when the democratic primaries got down to Hildabeast and Obammy. I figured I'd better get one while I could.
From my local Ace Hardware. (If your local Ace does not sell guns-n-ammo you must live in the wrong place)
It came with accessories such as sling, bayonet, cleaning kit, 2 magazines, mag pouch.
This is the only AKM I have ever owned, so I have nothing to compare it to.
But, it does not have the dreaded cant, nor mag wobble. And it shoots good.

Never had the desire for an AR, I prefer wood and steel. I was issued an M16A1 during the Late Unpleasantness, and it was Ok for a fighting rifle, but very picky about being kept clean in hostile environments.
