I understand foreign ammo is being restricted from states that are not America friendly. I also hear those same communist nations have changed calibers and the platforms are not what we have come to know. That said does anybody see the AK platform becoming less desirable? There are a few Youtube videos stating as such and can't say that I disagree.
AK's are reliable and good enough to keep a man safe / protected but accuracy seems to be the trade off, prices also are getting rather stupid. When they were inexpensive and ammo was the same it made sense to have them. Enough of the firearms in play and accuracy can be ignored. We have all seen the ISIS videos of them throwing ammo downrange without hitting anything.
I'm not going to dump the rifle/caliber but it reminds me of how FnFAL's are being classified with the new periodic table of UnObtainIum. I can see the same happening to the AK series as we have known them.
