Lost story

[Brother Grimm]

Gents,

Once read a story that was about a gentleman who built an underground bunker, had a hand pump well in his basement and a couple dogs. Meteor hits and dusts everything and he manages to survive though he gets knocked around on the way down to his bunker. Goes out after a while and finds all kinds of people who didn't survive the aftermath of the strike... Can't for the life of me remember the name of it or who wrote it but wouldn't mind seeing where the story went. Can anyone point me in the right direction on this?

Where and how long ago did you run onto this?

It's halfway ringing a bell with me, but I'm not sure if I'm remembering something else, or what you are looking for. A narrower time frame might jog my memory.

It rings a very faint and distant bell for me as well, and I honestly do not recall if I ever finished reading the story, or if it was finished.

Sorry, but no.

Two computers back, I had all my stories backed up on CDs. I could never get any new computers or laptops to open them.

I think I should stop writing.

Every time I do I end up becoming ill and end up in the hospital!
