Please use this thread for comments - good, bad or indifferent - for Jefferson101's The Ambassador.

This allows for the story to flow more naturally. After all, who reads a good novel and expects to find reader comments inserted within the story?

Jeff, I could see the pooch minder position coming to Miss Heather early in the story, but the twist as far as her 'preferences' was out of the blue. Nicely done, and the last part about the promotion for Don was good, very good. Making me almost want to have my own AI implant. Almost...

Really liking the story. I am serious when I say it's worthy of publishing for eReaders like Amazon's Kindle. I dare say you'd find a nice bit of change for metals purchases coming your way after it's finished.

    Sincere kudos, sir.

      Danke.

Now if you could just get the idiot posting the story to remember to turn his sig line off when he posts.....

Regarding publishing? Ha. That would assume that it is going to get finished without falling all apart on down the line. Things are fixing to get a lot more active, and I'm already having trouble keeping my time zones straight. The difference between ship time and terrestrial time zones already has me having to change some stuff up in Chapter 15 so it all comes out right. I was rattling right along, and remembered that I was now running on Zulu instead of MDT. I've got about five pages that may or may not ever make their way back into the story, depending on how the patch for the time change works out.

That's what happens to me when it starts writing itself. I was getting back on the rails with my outline, and realized I'd fumbled the time difference.

          Re: Comments for "The Ambassador"

The important aspect of the story to keep in mind is that, other than the XT's would chose Mr. Jefferson as their Earth Representative the manner in which the story is progressing is believable!

Okay, the Earthlings are taking the revelation of aliens a bit too easily, though I liked the religious aspect of the one security fellow.

On the other hand you could spend 200 pages detailing the reactions of various factions - religious and otherwise - on Earth once the Great Revelation is made. So for the sake of the story it works well as written.

As always, each addition is welcome.

Good story so far, but need more. Can't wait to see the wife's reaction to Jefferson's new job.

We'll be getting to that part eventually. As I commented a while back, I actually had an outline for this thing, but it took off at a tangent on me.

It's been writing itself pretty much, which is good. I just sit down at the keyboard and it kind of keeps rolling on, but that method does not lend itself to sticking to my outline. If I were doing this professionally, that would be a bad thing, but since I'm just entertaining myself (and hopefully some other folks) with it?

It's going somewhere, which is a lot better than the results I was getting when I was bound and determined to stick to the outline and sat and stared at the screen for a couple of hours, typed fifty words, and got up and left.

I'm about to get back on the rails with the outline, though, so by Chapter 22 or so, we'll have some developments.

Wow Jefferson, I don't think I have laughed so hard in ages. Oh, don't have Miss Rover eat the reporters, don't want to poison the poor dog. LOL, More Sir, More!

Recall that I'm keeping a chapter in reserve. Ch. 20 was written when I posted Ch. 19.

That's all I'm saying about it, but with any luck, I'll get Ch. 20 posted tomorrow evening. It depends on how long it takes me to get the yard mowed, and if I can get this stupid cat to quit helping me write.
