  • My Dad

My Dad was layed to rest today. It was a very hard day for us all. It was a most beautiful service performed by my best friend who is a minister.

I want to tell you something about him. He was a great dad. Taught all his sons how to fish, hunt and shoot. Most of all he taught us how to love. He was an example of a hard worker, providing for his family. Sacrificing personal wants and goals for the sake of being with his family. To be there. Love us and teach us things that will be with us forever. He leaves a wife of 48 years, 4 sons, 4 daughter-in-laws,and 8 grandchildren and numerous cousins and relatives inumerable.

Dad we Love You with all our hearts, rest well at the feet of the Lord you loved. In the comfort and peace of His Mighty arms that have sustained. May we all take comfort in the same peace and seek strength in His shining light that so brightens our lifes in times of need. We Love you Dad.

    Semper Fi.
    Your Loving Family

        Hugs Tread Head .... You are still in our thots and prayers. Trust in the Lord - He it is that will bring you the comfort that you so need at this time. What an encouragement tho to remember that one day you shall see him again face to face. God Bless you and your family at this time and remember that you have many friends here who care and are ready to lend a ready ear when you need one. :}

          Tread,
Your dad has left a lasting legacy; one that few can surpass.

I think your tribute to him says it all.

I'm truly sorry for your lost. I know words are empty at a time like this but our prayers go out to you and your family.

I lost my Dad when I was about to Graduate and headed for Basic Training at Lackland. There is not a day goes by that I don't miss him. God bless you and yours, Tread, and you are a good man.
God,grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can,and the wisdom to know the difference.

              Tread,

Your dad lives on ...... in you.
Be polite, be courteous, be professional. But, have a plan to kill everyone you meet.
If you had it to do all over again with what you know now. You'd just make different mistakes.

Tread...My personal belief: When we die, three things happen. Our bodys go back to earth, our Soul goes immediately to Jesus, and our memories live on in others thereby creating a form of immortality. Over the years you will find that any negative memory will shrink and fade to insignificane, while the good and positive will grow to epic proportions. Hold fast to the memories and let them grow around you. Add them to your legacy that you will leave your son and/or daughter. And the circle continues...

I do appreciate all of the very thoughtful words and encouragement.

Of late I have found myself reliving years of good times, and joyful times we had together. Fishing, hunting, shooting, camping, times with the family and those times we only shared together. Its amazing. I had a truly wonderful Dad. And still do! He's in Heaven with the Father. He knows the Peace and Joy that we all can only dream of.

I miss him alot, but I am grateful to God that I was blessed to have a father like him. No regrets, no should have, would have, could haves, amongst any of us. Only joyful memories of a great Dad, husband and American!

My wife is due to have our little girl in about 2 weeks. Its a new life, a new legacy. A brand new addition in a time of loss. God's light of mercy and love has a way of shining through even in the most difficult of times. What a Mighty Heavenly Father we serve. What a merciful Lord we have in Jesus!
