The trap is that everyone who submits is admitting in writing that they are a Felon! ATF has an 88 day window to process after which they automatically deny the application. The ATF section that processes the application has 7 agents. There are 10's of millions of brace owners. 10 years in prison and a $250K fine. you also get to rub shoulders with the January 6er's!

    I'm not changing a thing.
nor am I registering a thing.
If anything, I'm waiting for this to hit the courts

Here is a case from California, 2018. Which should also serve as an additional warning to anyone who would like to make the ATF's job a little easier.

As part of the CA Assault Weapons Ban there was an addition barring "bullet buttons;" magazine releases. So a farmer:

" in April when Jeffrey Scott Kirschenmann logged onto the DOJ website and proceeded to electronically submit photos of his legally owned AR-15. According to court documents, the photos prompted a DOJ investigation. The investigation determined that the AR was “illegally modified.” The documents don’t state the nature of the illegal modification.

As a result, the DOJ raided Kirschenmann’s home in Bakersfield. They discovered a dozen guns, 230 rounds of ammunition, two suppressors and a “multi-burst trigger activator.”

Kirschenmann was taken into custody, but he’s now out on $150,000 bail and facing a dozen gun-related felony charges.

Kirschenmann is the CEO of Scott Kirschenmann Farms, Inc., the grower that supplies the potatoes used by Frito Lay to make chips."

Can you imagine? After the ATF begins raiding millions of "legal" firearm owners, who will be newly self admitted Felons, just consider all the pictures they will post of alleged illegal modifications in addition to all the Discoveries of illegality that they will make.

I expect the courts to have a field day with this. The American with Disabilities Act, number of braces in use, and many other things will have an impact.

        Of course I don't own a brace...
