  • Food Processing: Targeted?

So the latest is now baby formula is in short supply. It turns out that resident Biden's administration shut down a baby formula factory in Michigan. and their answer to fix the problem doesn't appear to involve re-opening the facility in Michigan. No! They say they are "trying" to cut red tape so that more can be imported; from China?

Meanwhile, commercial food processors around the country are reporting fires at their facilities. one was narrowly missed by a crashing plane. It hit ( was aimed at ) some shipping containers behind the facility.

So how's your gardening coming along?

Mitt Romney slams FDA for 'risking lives of infants across the nation' by forcing Abbott baby formula plant to stay closed and demands to be told when it will be opened in stern letter to commissioner as parents struggle to feed their kids
    • Sen. Mitt Romney has slammed the FDA for keeping the largest baby formula plant in the U.S. closed
    • He demands to know when the Abbott Laboratories plant in Michigan will reopen
    • Romney wants the FDA and USDA to do more to ensure the availability of baby formula and provide an update on its investigation into the Abbott plant
    • The Republican legislator also questioned the quality of FDA inspections, citing how there were contamination reports at the plant dating back to 2019
    • Romney's push comes as parents and health experts are calling on federal authorities to reopen the plant amid a national baby formula shortage

I'm not sure that there's as much Iceberg down there as there seems to be at first glance.

Some of these issues are real. When your distribution plant burns down, that's going to be an issue, no doubt. Some of the others, though? I have read enough of the reports to know that some of them are relating things that were localized in a facility, or even confined to outbuildings and such. These type of things don't take massive amounts of time to fix.

I know that we had a "massive fire" at the Tyson facility here a couple of years ago. Their boiler plant burned down. It wasn't attached to anything else, though. They hauled whatever equipment they needed to generate the steam they required in, and were back up and running in 48 hours. The chicken nugget supply chain did not collapse.

Accidents do happen. It's the timing and the kind of activity affected that appears to coincide with other manipulations of commodities that raise red flags. Most threats to these facilities could come from a saboteur on the inside instead of an outside agent. Just look to the cast of characters that are BLM, ANTIFA, Communists, and Useful idiots. Not all of them are going to live in their parent's basement or on welfare. Not all of them can be teachers or civil servants. Most of the Left that graduates from 'higher learning" with staggering student loans have to take what jobs they can get. They don't need to destroy the facility. They just need a long enough pause in production in order to leverage the markets toward greater scarcity.

Our national food supply dances to whatever tune the USDA plays and right now that's Biden's USDA. A number of different vectors are playing out to tighten the national food supply. The Ukraine for example was a major corn, wheat, and sunflower oil supplier to the world market. We import a lot of produce from other countries that are adapting to these vectors by making decisions about how to protect their populations in the face of reduced or greatly produced agricultural production. The timing of these disruptions to food processing facilities along with the baby formula factory, together, looks like a pattern.

Why won't Biden allow baby formula imports NOW to ease crisis? Parents slam president for failing to yet make changes to import rules - as they demand he stop wasting time so they can feed their children
          • Parents are slamming Joe Biden as 'beyond incompetent' amid the formula crisis
          • Biden claims the nationwide shortage should improve in the coming weeks
          • The FDA is working to streamline a process to get more formula on store shelves
          • The agency also plans to detail next week how manufacturers and suppliers abroad will be able to import their products into the U.S.
          • However, despite efforts to get more formula to American consumers, manufacturers predict the shortage will continue throughout the end of the year
          • Angry parents are criticizing Biden for failing to act sooner and sending baby formula to the southern border

          [Excerpts]

"The $4 billion U.S. baby formula market is dominated by domestic producers, with import options limited, subject to high tariffs and onerous safety rules that include labeling standards."

"Meanwhile, the head of one of the four companies that control upwards of 90 percent of the U.S. market for baby formula on Friday warned that he expects shortages and heightened demand for formula to last for the 'balance of the year.' "

Biden on Friday: " 'I'll answer the baby formula question because all of a sudden it's on the front page of every newspaper,' he said. "

We already know that Biden is buying up Baby Formula and we know his administration is sending quantities to the Border to supply Illegal Alien Mothers who invaded this country. What we really don't know is whether or not he is sending all of those government purchases or if he is instead hording it or just DUMPING IT in a LANDFILL somewhere. That he could be DUMPING It is entirely plausible when one remembers that the OBAMA-BIDEN Administration hoarded the Domestic Supply of Ammunition in order to create shortages as part of some ant-gun scheme they were cooking up alongside Fast & Furious. Those vast quantities of ammunition have never been accounted for. Likely, they ended up in a Federal Government Landfill somewhere.
