  • Thanksgiving Blessings

This is what I read at the table before dinner every Thanksgiving.
It came to me off the Net many MANY years ago.

    +++++++++++

    Subject: THANKSGIVING

Thanksgiving it IS something to think about!
How much do you need to make you happy...?

If you woke up this morning with more health than illness...you
are more blessed than the million who will not survive this week.

If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the
loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs
of starvation ... you are ahead of 500 million people in the world.

If you can attend a religious ceremony without fear of harassment,
arrest, torture, or death...you are more blessed than three billion people
    in the world.

If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a
roof overhead and a place to sleep...you are richer than 75% of this world.

If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change
in a dish someplace...you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy.

If your parents are still alive and still married...you are
very rare, even in the United States.

If you hold up your head with a smile on your face and are
truly thankful...you are blessed because the majority can, but most do not.

If you can hold someone's hand, hug them or even touch them on
the shoulder...you are blessed because you can offer a healing touch.

If you can read this message, you just received a double
    blessing
in that someone was thinking of you, and furthermore,
you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world
    that cannot read at all.

Have a good day, count your blessings, and pass this along to
remind everyone else how blessed we all are.

    ++++++++++++++++

    I add my own addendum:

"I give Thanks to Father God and Mother Nature
    AND
to everyone who provided this meal,
From the Farmers thru the Processors and Transporters to the Cooks.

^^^ +1 May your meal let you remember why we are thankful, some people don't have the luxuries we enjoy.

The majority of us in the US have much to be thankful for every day of the year.

        Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Thanks to everyone........and everything we enjoy today...........May God bless us all...........
And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgement was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands: and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. Well thankyou for that BOOKWORM. My voice is cracking a bit and I got a lump in my throat to boot. Both eyes got working pipes. Now I'm starting to lose it.

To Everyone here at AW I extend my Warmest Greetings to y'all for tomorrow. Hug your kinfolk and be nice to them. This Holiday comes but once a year.

                  Love

I am thankful after Thanksgiving, also. For Thanksgiving, I was happy that all of my problems were "First World" ones. My internet is slow, It takes three days to get a Plumber when my drains clog up. They are out of my preferred brand of TP, or Paper Towels, or Dog Food, or whatever, and I have to go to alternate sources....

And so on and so forth. As long as all I have are "First World" problems, I've been seriously Blessed by Our Lord.

The OP is still viable. This year I'm thankful that I'm still ambulatory (now with a cane) and able to get around. And that I've been invited by friends to eat their Thanksgiving meal with them (I live alone). I am thankful that I have many good friends, even though I don't think I necessarily deserve any. And as the season progresses, I up my thankfulness for God's gift of Jesus.
