  • Your huge time-sink for the month.

Just wow. Long form articles (3000 words plus, most of them) about all sorts of interesting Historical stuff. The guy has a way with words, and offers detail enough to present the facts without being hugely judgmental or so brief as to leave most of the facts out. He's doing his homework before he writes these.

Just as a teaser, I'll let you look at this one first.

I'd give you a quote, but it's too entangled and long to do it justice with less than a third of the article, so just go look at it, OK? You might be glad you did.

I'm not even 10% of the way through the place yet, but if you have some time and the patience to read his stuff, it's really engaging and very strange.

And don't say I didn't warn you about wasting half you life for the next couple of weeks or months.

My latest time-sink is watching the entire series (all three seasons, 78 episodes) of 12 O'clock High. The entire series is now up on YouTube. 46 +/- minutes per episode.

Tom T. Hall wrote that song (along with hundreds of other hits) and Jeannie C. Riley sang it in 1968. A couple of years later she got saved and 15 years later she called Tom T and asked if he would write a "Return to Harper Valley PTA". It's a good song to and it shows how people mature in their thinking.

Click this link for just the song:
