I took my two girls to hunter safety as a start to their lives with guns. They target shoot with me but they prefer the .22 to anything. I tried them with the SKS since it had a pretty low recoil but it still bothered them. That's okay, they'll eventually grow into it. Both don't have any problems with a 20 gauge shotgun. Out here in the country, that SKS is available to my wife and the .22 is available to the girls. When visitors come, the rifles get locked up. Too many idiot kids out there.

The two on the ends are mine - middle my niece. Dad not only taught us to respect the guns but also use & care. I feel very fortunate to have been raised with this knowledge, as I am convinced one day it will come in handy (whether it be against a two or four legged creature). This knowledge has & will continue to be passed down from one generation to the next. It is our right and duty as Americans to be able to protect ourselves & I know a frying pan just won't do the trick. Thanks for my Christmas present (SKS) Dad, as well as the lifetime present.

Well, hello! One minute you ask about AW and the next minute you're a member! Sheesh, you're quick!
I know you'll do me proud and don't let these bogey men scare you (as if they could!).

Wellcome Laughing Cricket.
My Dad taught me gun safety. as soon as I could walk. I have Pics of me shooting a 22 Rem. semi auto my Dad holding it and me pulling the trigger and smiling. Our guns were never locked up, but always safely put away. I now have a G/F who has two Boy's, 8 & 15 the oldest goes deer hunting. The meat sure tastes good & helps to feed a family of four. I took the Kids out shooting this summer, and i think i know how my Dad felt when I taught the 8 yr. old how to shoot my Ruger 10/22. I could hardly keep the mags loaded for him. I guess what i'm trying to say, is THANKS DAD. I only hope the I can do as good a job as you did.

MM, You did REAL good!!!!!
DTec09, around here we teach 'Girls' just like the boys. My daughter FIRST went to the range at 6 weeks old. I still have a picture of her in her car seat with muffs on and 'HER' Beretta Model 21 in her lap. For some reason I could not get her to fire it that time. LOL
D.T.T.N.W.O., 'friends' is why I got my son his own gun safe when he asked for it LAST Christmas. He will ALWAYS ask before he touches a gun that is not his. The 'clone' is 14 this year and has his own AR 15 and AK. None of his guns are brought out with his friends here.
